Job Title: Community Engagement Worker (Female)

About the Project:

The Employability Project aims to enhance job readiness and employability for community members. We provide training, support, and resources to help participants secure and maintain meaningful employment. We are looking for a dedicated and organised female candidate to support the project coordinator in achieving these goals.

Job Summary:

The Community Engagement Officer will assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the employability project. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to helping others succeed.

As a member of the Hollings Youth Association CIC staff team, you will play a crucial role in the development and delivery of Youth & Community development, physical and Recreational activities, particularly in community settings. A significant focus of your work will be on providing employability support, helping individuals to gain the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to secure meaningful employment.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

  • Assist the Project Coordinator with day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes during project meetings.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure records are up-to-date.

Participant Coordination:

  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of project participants.
  • Communicate with participants regarding training schedules, workshops, and other project-related activities.
  • Track participant progress and provide necessary support and follow-up.

Resource Management:

  • Assist in managing project resources, including materials and supplies.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops, and events.
  • Help prepare and distribute training materials and resources.

Communication and Outreach:

  • Assist in developing and distributing promotional materials for the project.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including participants, employers, and community partners.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide information about the project.

Youth Work:

  • Design and implement youth-focused initiatives that promote personal development, education, and social inclusion.
  • Design and assist with Recreational and Sporting activities
  • Provide guidance and support to young people, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their potential.
  • Implement and support initiatives aimed at reducing crime and increasing community safety.
  • Engage with local law enforcement and community groups to address safety concerns and develop preventative measures.

Health and Wellbeing Activities:

  • Develop and promote activities that enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with health professionals to offer advice and support on healthy living practices.

Professional Development:

  • Continuously develop your skills and knowledge through training, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in community development, employability support, and youth work.

Monitoring and Reporting:

– Collect and organise data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

– Assist in preparing progress reports for the Project Coordinator and stakeholders.

– Help analyse project outcomes and suggest improvements.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) required; A Levels or NVQ Level 3 in Youth & Community, Social Work, Human Resources, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or support role, preferably in a community development or employability context.
  • Experience working with diverse populations is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with database management.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
